Completed Projects in the NF Lewis River
Haapa Habitat Restoration Phase 1
The Haapa Habitat Restoration Project (Phase I), which ran from 2014 to 2019, enhanced 6.7 acres along the North Fork Lewis River—critical habitat for ESA-listed Chinook, Chum, Coho, and Steelhead. The project removed invasive weeds, planted over 10,000 native trees and shrubs, and installed large woody debris to improve rearing habitat for salmon.
