Your Support Fuels Salmon Recovery

Healthy salmon runs are essential to thriving rivers, resilient ecosystems, and strong communities. At the LCFEG, our mission is to restore and protect salmon habitat while inspiring the next generation of salmon stewards. We work hands-on across the Lower Columbia region, placing wood in streams, restoring riparian forests, improving water quality, and reconnecting floodplains. These projects don’t just benefit salmon; they strengthen entire watersheds for wildlife and people alike.

Recently, LCFEG lost a long-standing federal funding source that had supported our work for many years. Without replacement support, our ability to carry out habitat restoration, community education, and stewardship efforts is at risk.

How You Can Help

Donations provide the flexible support LCFEG needs to restore and protect critical salmon habitat. Your gift helps grow and install native plants, remove barriers to fish passage, enhance stream nutrients, and support on-the-ground construction, and maintenance. From logs in the water and plants in the ground to students learning salmon science in their own communities, donor support makes this work possible.

A Critical Moment for LCFEG

Join us in Growing the Next Generation of Salmon Stewards

A significant portion of LCFEG’s funding supports Seeds to Salmon (S2S), a hands-on education program that engages students in native plant propagation and ecological restoration. Through S2S, students explore the vital connections between native vegetation, healthy riparian forests, and salmon-bearing waterways while participating in real-world stewardship projects. Donor support helps ensure this meaningful, place-based learning continues to reach students throughout the Lower Columbia region.
