Seeds to Salmon: Growing the Next Generation of Stewards

One of LCFEG’s signature programs, Seeds to Salmon (S2S), connects high school students in Clark County with hands-on learning in native plant propagation, watershed health, and salmon ecology. Students grow native plants in their school nurseries and then bring those plants out into the field, helping restore salmon habitat throughout our community. The program not only strengthens environmental stewardship, it also gives teens real-world experience in science and restoration, preparing them to become the next generation of conservation leaders.

Recently, LCFEG lost a long-standing federal funding source that had sustained Seeds to Salmon for years. Without replacement support, this vital program risks shrinking just as demand from local schools continues to grow.

How You Can Help

Your support can keep Seeds to Salmon thriving in classrooms and in the field. Every gift helps students nurture plants from seed, restore salmon streams, and experience the connections between healthy forests, healthy rivers, and healthy salmon runs.

Together, we can inspire youth, strengthen our community’s connection to salmon, and ensure healthier watersheds for generations to come.
